Toni&Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray - review
3:57 PM
You might have noticed that Toni&Guy have totally redone their at-home hair care line. I'd never tried the range myself, but had spent countless hours restocking those red bottles in my past life as a David Jones retail drone, in-between those loooooong hours walking between the OPI stand and Aesop counters. Total retail zombie.
Anyway, through the new Hair Meet Wardrobe campaign, the styling products have been repackaged and organised into four style collections - Casual, Classic, Glamour and Creative.
No surprises that my favourite collection is the casual line (casual's really just code for half-arsed, right?) as casual is pretty much my approach to fashion and beauty, and if it needs ironing or can't be applied with fingers, it can GTFO.
My pick from the range is the Sea Salt Texturising Spray, which combines my love of beachy waves and covering everything in salt. Like hot chips. ZOMG how good are the hot chips with truffle oil and parasen from Charlie & Co.? I ate a massive bowl at Pitt St Westfield the other day, then did that sneaky thing where you run your finger around the inside and lick it to get all that salty goodness. I'm super classy.
Anyway! Sea salt texturising spray!
It's held in a rather sleek little grey-blue number (each collection has its own colour theme) and has a lovely pump-action bottle, that for me using about every three days for the last month has not jammed or anything socially awkward like that.
Surprsingly doesn't smell too salty, despite the name, and has a refreshing aquatic scent when spritzed.
Now, normally this is the part where I show you my less than sophisticated attempts at hairstyles. However! When I went with a bunch of other bloggers - hey, what do you call a collective of bloggers? A post of bloggers? A desperation of bloggers? A swatch? I kind of like a gloss of beauty bloggers. So, yes, along with a gloss of bloggers, we got to check out some of the snazzy looks you can pull off with the new Toni&Guy products. I was given the mother of all buns with the sea salt spray by the stylist, and I totally loved it.
HAWT |
It's crazy for someone with my amount of hair, but this style is being held together by just one hair band and two bobby pins! Madness!
At home I have been using the spray on fresh, clean hair when I want to add grip for an undo. Spraying around the mid-lengths then scrunching with my fingers seems to work best in creating a more scruffy, but not fluffy look. I've also used it for a bedhead style side braid, and it works really well in holding the pieces I've carefully pulled out into place and looking oh so nonchalant.
BITCH PLEASE, I'M FABULOUS! |
I also met the delightful Lexi from PottyMouthMama, and we got our silly on.
Oh, like you ever thought I wouldn't gif this. |
Toni&Guy Sea Salt Texturising Spray is A$15.99. I've seen it bopping around Priceline so far, although I know it is stocked quite widely now after that initial launch period.
Disclaimer: This product was provided to me for consideration by Toni&Guy. They have in no way influenced my review and opinions are my own. It is also my opinion that voguing is an undervalued talent. I think I'll add that to my resume right now. See my Disclaimer for more sexy details.

Waa!! I have this, but not sure how to use it! I've tried to do exactly what you said, spray and then scrunch, but it just doesn't work out............ Maybe my hair is too thick, or somethang?
ReplyDeleteI love the photos! Hahahhahah they are so cutesy and fun! "Gloss of bloggers", eh? :P xx
Hmm, I have VERY thick hair, so I'm sure that's not it. For updos, I hang my head upsidedown and spray through then scrunch before pinning up, for wearing loose and wavy, I spray sections lightly, then twist them to enforce the wave. No brushing at all!
DeleteGreat Photos! Love it :)

Thanks! :)
DeleteI love products with "salt" in their name, they always smell like the ocean, I like that especially in the summer. Great pictures from the photobooth, who could ever resist to enter?
ReplyDeletePhotobooths are deadly, I just can't stay away from them!

How cool! I really need to invest in one of these texturizing sprays, they look perfect for summer! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThey are great, especially the new sea salt sprays which seem to avoid the drying effects previous versions have had. Call it the new gen.
DeleteOh wow that gif is hilarious! I've never had any luck with sea salt sprays, maybe it's time to try again!
ReplyDeleteThey're worth a shot, and they do teeny travel size bottles of this in Priceline too if you wanted to just test it out.
DeleteSea salt spray and curls is not a winning combination for me, sadly, because I used it for years.
ReplyDeleteThe gif, however, is a truly winning combination! O for Awesome dude.
Gifs always win everything. Ever!
