LUS Foot Exfoliation Peeling Sheets - review and discount code

8:08 AM

Aren't feet gross? My feet especially. They are a whopping size 11 and all kinds of wide and finger-toed. I also have pretty rough skin from daily abuses like high heels, playing sports and stubbing my toes on the damn coffee table ultra-marathons. Not even a very accepting foot fetishist could love my baby dolphin sized stompers. I'm always keen to try something that makes them nicer. Like, as nice as feet can be anyway.

I recently received a package from Glow and Glamour packed with all kinds of nifty products. One of these being a pack of LUS Foot Exfoliation Peeling Sheets, an unknown brand to me (LUS seems to stand for Lovely Your Skin) from South Korea. Foot sheets are something I've never seen before, or even thought about. Sure, I've used foot creams and scrubs before, but nothing as involved as this. From the box's illustrations, I surmise that there will be peeling skin involved. My favourite!

It's a pretty simple treatment, just wash and dry feet, slap the lotion soaked sheet on your foot (it's shaped like a shallow sock, so hangs on quite easily), then cover with provided plastic foot-gloves and allow to marinate for two hours.

Okay, not my best look

I also tossed on some bed socks over the top because me wearing slippery plastic on my feet + tiled apartment = head injuries. You can use this two hours to catch up on world affairs or start a new knitting project. Or eat Nutella with a spoon from a jar. No judgement here. Me, I watched Arrested Development gifs. Surprised?

I made sure to wash off the solution thoroughly after my two hours was up, and....nothing had happened. I can't understand anything on the box, so assumed it needs time for the acids to do their thing.

Two full days passed before the peeling began. Oh, the glorious peeling! This is where I admit that I take a bit of twisted pleasure in peeling off dead skin. Like, getting sunburnt is supremely uncool, but the peeling afterwards? Disgusting perfection. Anyway, the amount of skin that comes off was gross. So gross that it was amazing. There are some icky photos for your displeasure below.

Mmm yeah baby, so hot
Gross, right? My feet are crazy smooth now, although there's still a bit of peeling going on around the sides. If you wanted to get your feet sexy for a special event, then plan ahead. There are two treatments per box, so I'll be slipping them on maybe two weeks out from my upcoming holiday to Hawaii to give my tootsies enough time to get their shed on. I really enjoyed using these, for both the novelty factor and the end result.

You can buy LUS Foot Exfoliation Peeling sheets/Exfoliating Foot Mask (seems to go by both names) here at Glow and Glamour for US$15.90 for two pairs of treatment socks. Note: I'm kinda skeeved out by the site's reference to the end result being "childlike feet". I get they mean smooth, but still.

Reader special!
If you want to give these or anything else a whirl from Glow and Glamour (hello, false lashes!), use the discount code LRR-BEAUTY for 5% off store-wide. I've also been reviewing their coloured contacts which I love and will be reviewing shortly, but until then, you can use the discount code LRR-CONTACT for 15% off all contacts at the check-out. I just scoped out the site and they are also running several different discounts and rewards right now.

Special bonus awkward story time!
If you follow me on Twitter, you may have seen my tweets about this. I was emailing the photos of my hideous foot moulting to myself so I could have them on my computer. Being a doofus depending on auto-fill, I hit down twice, it auto-filled the address and I hit enter. Sent! To my personal trainer...

Being a quick thinker, I sent a faux group email to her.

Seems legit
No reply as yet, but I'm fairly confident now that once again, I've cemented my position as "the weird one". Winner! Hopefully next Wednesday's session won't be too awkward...

    1. I think it's the acids listed in the ingredients that makes it work. My feet are so fricking smooth now.
Glad you like the email disaster, my embarrassment is worth it now ;)

  4. I'll be keen to try them. I am an owner of ped egg but it doesn't work for me as well as it does for people in infomercials. I don't have time or patience to file my feel for one hour. I might give there a try

    1. I have a foot file, but the whole shaving and grinding off the skin is so nasty. It reminds me of chalkboards and I don't know why. I really like this alternative.

    2. I'm currently studying abroad, it would be such a pity if there wouldn't be anyone around here to touch my super smooth feet! I keep my eyes open to maybe find something similar around here, my feet are really angry with me. Hope your friend isn't tired of appreciating the smoothness by now!

    4. If your feet are cold, your boyfriend should at least warm them for you!! At least that's what I say to him 'cause my feet are always more iceberg than.. than... global warming.

  9. Maybe you should have given a kit to said personal trainer so that she could join the peeling skin club? I have to know. Did you keep the skin? Could be good for practical jokes on the boyfriend perhaps.
