Face of Australia Lip Quench SPF30+ in Lychee Crush review and swatches
5:45 AMLet's not prolong the suspense. I love this lipstick. You probably already love this lipstick. My boyfriend doesn't like this lipstick, then again he doesn't like wearing lipstick full stop. He does however love it on me.
A+ for penmanship |
I've avoid pale shades in the past due to my extreme whiteness (seriously I've had Japanese tourists have their photo taken with me because of it) as I don't want to look even more washed out. However I think the slight apricot tones encourage warmth in my face, rather than waxy vamp skin. It didn't dry out my lips, but in return need to be reapplied several times throughout the day as it melts into my lips.
There is a slight sunscreen smell when applied, but it disappears for me within a few minutes.
Adding to the lemmingness of this lippy is the great posts some of my favourite Aussie beauty bloggers are jotting out on the subject.
Rosemary from Lashes & Lattes did an enchanting Disney Princess homage to Beauty and the Beast's Belle, with the subtle colour complimenting her wide eyes and the best brows I've ever seen. She's also pulled it off with a tan!
Tegan from Tegania's Thoughts used hers to enhance a mid-holiday glow (and boy, does she glow! Gorgeous.) and peachy cheeks.
Stacey from Add to Cart gives some helpful examples of similar shades from other brands if you're still on the fence about going nude and need a point of comparison. She has great shots of the product, much better than my hack efforts.
Yes, the loose hairs on my left side appear to be escaping to the light. You ain't going anywhere, guys. |

I don't normally go for this type of pale colour because I too am quite pale but I so want to try one just to be in the 'in' crowd with everyone else who has been raving about it.
ReplyDeleteOh dude, believe me that if I can wear it, you can. I'm whiter than milk (full-fat, not this skim bullshit)!
Deletethanks so much for the compliment lovely!! I do happen to think you glow too in your Instagram pictures - I have never seen anyone look so good without foundation on! xxx
ReplyDeleteAw thanks. Let's agree that we are both glowing with loveliness ;)
DeleteWhat a gorgeous colour! No wonder it's popular. Suits you perfectly. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. LOL @ the escaping hair.
Thanks! It's lovely, isn't it? I think I'll be wearing this well into autumn too.
DeleteThe escaping hair took a dose of hairspray for thier insolence ;)
Ohhh this is such a gorgeous lipstick! It looks lovely on you! Ahhh...:)

Glad you like it on me! Do you think you will give it a go? I know you appear to be a flower, but peachy shades happen to look pretty on frangipanis too!
DeleteYou think? Then perhaps this little flower might have to give it a shot!

Yay! Glad you like it too. I love being such an enabler ;)
DeleteAmazed you managed to find it, it's been snapped up very quickly around my area!
I looovvveee this colour. Can i buy it online anywhere?!?!
ReplyDeleteHmm I haven't seen it online yet, but I think if you tweet @foacosmetics they should be able to tell you. They're v helpful!
Deletelove the colour! apparently pale skin suits pastels?
ReplyDeleteFINALLY there's something pale skin can do better than tan gals ;)
DeleteI've heard so much about this colour specifically, that I think I really want to buy it now!

I think everyone is lemming it at the moment! Def worth a shot at that wee price.
DeleteWell, this find was a random one! I was cruising Kmart (despite me swearing to never set foot in the revamped stores because they are like the bastard child of Walmart and Ikea that no-one is willing to acknowledge) and seriously, Jesus wept. This pink is very flattering, even on a pale 40 year old with expensively-to-maintain blonde hair. The kick in the face was that only the tester was present, on account of the actual lippies being sold out! So here I am, for one mad moment contemplating stealing the tester...and then reality snapped me back into the real world.
ReplyDeleteSo I hot-footed it to Priceline and purchased the only, slightly damaged Lychee Crush in store. And I felt oddly joyful at the prospect of adding this to my collection. Having read all the rave reviews online for this lip, I'm looking forward to wearing it.
No I am looking for the Luxe nailpolish called Foxy something..it's a bit beautiful too.
Haha, LC was so hard to find, sold out everywhere! Sounds like you have the same local K-Mart as me - soul-sucking with nothing in stock but dirty testers.
DeleteNever steal a tester - it's too tempting for karma to curse you with cold-sores...
Glad you got it in the end, so perfect for team pale/blonde!
Oh, and can I say your pearl earrings looked super sweet with this lippy Michaela. Love to get some pink pearls myself...you know mix it up a bit.
ReplyDeleteWho run the world? PEARLS!
DeleteGod, that was lame. Yep love my pearls!
