HELLO LADY!!! It has been SOOOO long! I lurve what you've done with your hair/lips/lashes/nose/nails/Medusa-like nest of snakes. I know I promised to talk sooner, but I was like moving house, well teeny studio apartment really, and I technically have no internet outside of work because phones lines and blaaaah, so I'm now being all crafty-like at Starbucks and nursing an Americano for 4 hours to get my precious cat video fix. Ok, and looking at Karlie Kloss's nudie Vogue Italia photos wistfully, then closing my laptop whenever someone walks by because they might think I'm a skeezy peeve.

And now beauty blogging again too. Cat videos are only slightly above blogging in my Squeeworthy Scale of Excellence.

So anyways, here's my first try of one of those newfangled BB creams all you kids are speeding around in these days. Alas, to the band wagon, I am tardy once again. Nevertheless, I shall press on!

My Pink Balayage Hair - An At-Home Experiment!

Ok, so I've dyed my hair just once before, and it was pretty much a disaster. So when I woke up last week and thought "Oh my God. I'm 24 and boring and not very crazy or wild or doing anything extreme RIGHT NOW! I NEED TO DO SOMETHING EXCITING!!", it took me quite by surprise. Figuring it was a quarter-life crisis, and that it was obviously my previously happily blonde hair holding me back, I decided to dip-dye my hair a pastel pink and recapture my fruitful youth and the carefree mind from way back when I was 23.

Look, it worked! You should totally read ahead now that I've spoiled the ending

Costume National Pop Collection - perfume review

One day I'll woman up, and admit this is actually a perfume blog, with a weenie amount of other products chucked in. Until then I guess I'll soldier on with my normal stuff. Oh hey look, another perfume review!

SURPRISE!

I really wanted to try Costume National's new Pop simply for its association with OK GO!. They're I pretty fun band that I listened to waaaaay back in 2003/4 thanks to one of their tracks appearing on The O.C. More recently, they've become well known for their fun video clips, like the one with the theadmills and more recently, their trippy re-imagining of The Muppets Theme.

Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm review

So, who here still uses Carmex? I remember the little yellow tubs being a staple at high school among my friends, but the tingly feeling upon application was all a bit too much for my sensitive lips (yes, I'm a bit of a delicate petal).

Fast forward to 2011, and we have a new, sexy Carmex, one that comes in a sleek little tube and promises a "clear satin gloss finish". As well as the new packaging, it has been reformulated with shea butter, vitamin E and aloe. It also has SPF 15, which is a total must for my daytime balms, and smells a wee bit like vanilla. It has also toned down the tingle, which means I can use it without my face falling off.

Violet Blonde. A review haiku.

Honestly, there's not much more to say. It's safe and sure to be a mainstream favourite. It's like a slightly sexier version of YSL's Parisian, with the powder of Balenciaga's Paris (what is with Paris and violet based scents?), and minus the rose from both. It's a pretty floral, but didn't wow me. I wish it was 'violent'. It sure would make it interesting!

Overall, the Lara Stone ad is much more interesting. Gorgeous! Have added the shade she's wearing, Violet Fatale to my verrrrry long MU list.

Redken Extreme CAT Protein Reconstructing Treatment review

I have fluffy, dry, fly-away fatty boombah hair. It needs serums, constant conditioning, masque-ing and little murmurs of what a clever and pretty head of hair it is to stop it chucking tantys and frizzing all over the place just when I'm having that one Facebook group photo taken that everyone decided to use as a profile pic. Oh the sticky shame.

So I was indeed chuffed when I blindly tested Redken's Extreme CAT Protein Reconstructing Treatment For Distressed Hair, and it not only made my mane feel strong and shiny and all ra-ra go team, but also de-puffed it. TOTAL BONUS!
